A few kms north of Caloundra is Kawana Skatepark, in the coastal suburb called Bokarina. You’ll find it next to the Kawana Aquatic Centre next door to the Kawana Aquatic Centre.

While it might be a bit older and worse for wear, there’s plenty here to work with. This medium sized park boasts a long centre flat, with a small funbox with rail as the centre piece. Along with a strange collection of three speed bumps, I’d guess you’d call them. The bank closest to the park entry has a rail on the left and grind box on the right that takes you out to the middle. The right side features a continuous quarters with coping, split up by a ramp. Along the left there’s a decent sized pyramid, leading out a smooth roll in bank in the far left corner.
This leaves the best part to speak about. There’s a shallow bowl closest to the entry that actually is elevated and backs onto a 4-5 foot half pipe forming a spine. These two different transitions are a lot of fun to grind and transfer from one to the other. There is some coverage provided with the two shade sails covering a fair area at each end of the park. There does appear to be lights, but they are different, like upside down lampshades. Yet to confirm if its decently lit for a night roll.
