Small street setup just back from the main strip at Cooly. The Coolangatta Skatepark is different to most on the GC. It has very little in the way of transitions and no big elements. You won’t find many serious scooter riders here, but it’s a great place for the little ones to have a roll around.
Coolangatta Skatepark Elements
This park has all manner of street elements laid out in a small area. There’s a 3 combo box starting with a manual pad and building to a longer ledge. There’s grind boxes that turn almost 90 degrees. A mellow tiled bank leads into a small wall ride ledge with another grind box planted in the end of the wall. There’s tiled banks with hip in the back corner. A flat rail and a small rainbow rail are on the flat. In another corner there’s a small tiled bank which leads up into a curved rainbow style micro quarter with metal coping. Another combo element along one side has a chair ledge, banks to gap, and a small pump track. In another corner there’s a curved quarter with step out ledge. Both have metal coping.
What’s Around
This is a few blocks back from the beach at Coolangatta, so there’s plenty around. Shops, parks, amenities, everything you could want really. There’s parking down in the middle of the park and also at the back of the shops nearby. It is a busy area though so parking isn’t always easy.
