Hidden away, down a hill, at the back of a Football field is where Canungra Skatepark can be found. There’s not much here and it’s very much old school.
Canungra Skatepark Elements
The park is laid out in a rectangular shape with a bank running all the way down two sides. It’s around 3 feet high, curved at the corner and has metal coping. This is more bank than transition. In one corner there’s a three sided bank with a deck sitting around 2 foot. In the middle at the back there’s a 3 sided banked pyramid. This is around 3 foot in height with a rounded lip. There’s a bit of flatland and that’s about it.
What’s Around
It’s not easy to find. There’s a shelter and seat at the back of the football oval. If you aim for that you’ll discover the skate park just below it down the hill. There’s parking on the street and at the clubhouse. Around the park there’s a playground, tennis courts, swimming pool, dog park, basketball courts and plenty of space. The nearest shops are a fair roll away on the main road. Canungra is located to the west of the Gold Coast.
