All day every day, there’s kids on scooters trying tailwhips at skate parks all across Australia. Most can spin the scooter around, most don’t land. As one of the basics you need as a freestyle scooter rider, it’s important that you can nail down this trick. So today we’re taking a look at How To Tailwhip a Scooter.
The video we’ve chosen to showcase the tailwhip is by Raymond Warner. He takes you through step by step and there’s some great tips.
Tailwhip a Scooter Step by Step
You can learn this trick on the flat or when doing flyouts.
The more air time you have, the longer you’ll give yourself to complete the tailwhip.
- Jump up off the Scooter.
- Kick the deck around using the front of your back foot.
- Use your arms to make the scooter spin the full 360.
- As the scooter comes back around, use your back foot to “catch” it.
- Bring the scooter back completely underneath you and put your front foot back on before you land.
Once you’ve got it down, it’s time to show off your mad skills at the skate park.
