Suffolk Park Skatepark

This is the only spot worth riding in the immediate area of Byron Bay. The Suffolk Park Skatepark has nothing large in size, just a lot of small to medium sized elements both street and transition.

Suffolk Park Skatepark Elements

This is a two part park, with the elements seeming to flow out onto the basketball court. On the court there’s a series of both permanent and temporary movable rails, ledges and a manual box. Then in the back corner, right over the court lines there’s a half banked pyramid with a hip and deck. In the back there’s a wedge ramp combo box, one side has a gap, and there’s a wedge rail running the full length. Heading down into this section from the skate park proper there’s a few hubbas, hand rail, bank and an 8 stair.

Staring at the back of the actual skate park there’s a wide deck. Running down from here are a bank, a couple of quarter pipes and a three sided micro bowl. In the centre of the park there’s a standalone grind box and a wedge ramp. On the other side in the middle there’s a combo box with kickers, full length hubba, ledge, flat down rail, and a half pyramid.

On the far end of the park there’s a wall of banks of different heights. The larger one has a small quarter popping out. There’s also a hubba over on one edge.

What’s Around

This is down the back of a much larger park. There is off street car parks that you turn into off of Beech Drive. In the park there’s seats and shelters, tennis courts, playground, field, and amenities. There’s also a community vegetable patch. The nearest shops are back out on Broken Head Drive and include a service station.
