Stafford Heights Skatepark

There aren’t many parks in this pocket of the inner north west side of Brisbane. The Stafford Heights Skatepark is a few kilometres closer to the city than say the Albany Creek or Ferny Grove parks. It’s on Webster Rd just down from the intersection at Rode Rd. As always with the north west area, buses are your best option. There are bus stops in both directions just down the road.

The standout here of course is the large pill shaped bowl that is wider on the street side end. It’s about 5 foot deep with metal coping, and it rides smooth as this park got a resurfacing sometime earlier in 2017. The bowl is a good depth and almost goes to vert, making it good for launching big airs. On top on the far side of the bowl is a corner ledge and a combination sloped and flat rail for some grinds. On the other side of the bowl is another section with varied shallow banks and then a steeper one towards a launcher. Down the end this finishes off with a long U shaped section of banks.

The best bank to use there is the one directly in front. It has coping along it spanning about four metres. It’s transition might catch you by surprise first time you ride it though. Starts with a curve and flattens out to the top.
