Redbank Plains Skatepark

Older style skate park that has the bowl filled in. Considering the big bucks councils in surrounding cities are spending to build bowls, this seems like a complete waste. Luckily they left the rest of Redbank Plains Skatepark in tact so there’s still plenty to ride.

Redbank Plains Skatepark Elements

The flatland at Redbank is bitumen. It’s old and there’s plenty of cracks forming. At the top of the park there’s a wide 3 sided round 3 foot bowl that’s more bank than transition. One side has coping but the concrete around it is breaking up.

In the middle of the park there’s a transition pyramid joining a banked pyramid. It has a large tabletop, some of which has thin metal coping. Facing the pyramid on one side is a rounded top bank. It has a small platform and is used for speed. The opposite side has a hipped quarter pipe with a small platform and metal coping.

On the bitumen there’s a flat rail. Heading down a bank there’s a 4 stair with a low down rail, and a quarter with coping built in. There’s a bit of flat with a slight curve around and where the bowl has been filled in.

What’s Around

Parking is in Bicentennial Park off of Cedar Road. It’s a short walk over the the skatepark. A bus stops close by and the Town Square Shopping Centre is a short ride up the road.
