Labrador Halfpipe

This old concrete beast has been around since the dawn of time. Well maybe not that long, but you get the picture. The Labrador Halfpipe is like nothing else you’ll find on the GC. It has no flat at all as the transitions flow from one side to the other.

Labrador Halfpipe Elements

The Keith Hunt Half Pipe is a standalone ramp. It’s old school, rough concrete with no coping. It’s hard to measure it’s height as it has no flat, just one continuous transition. But at a guess I’d say it stands around 8 foot. It has a couple of roll ins on the sides that are opposite each other. It’s surrounded by trees and cut into the hill, so a broom comes in handy if you’re after a smoother run. There is nothing else here to ride. No path to it, no flat, just the ramp.

What’s Around

The entrance is a little hard to find. It’s off Musgrave Ave between the soccer and hockey fields. There is parking down the back near the halfpipe. The ramp itself is on the corner at the back. There’s amenities here but not much else. The nearest shops are a fair ride. Buses stop nearby and the train and tram are over at the Hospital and Uni.
