Kensington Grove Skatepark

If you’re into bowls and transitions then you’ll enjoy it out here. Kensington Grove Skatepark has skipped the standard out this way and gone for something a little different.

Kensington Grove Skatepark Elements

The main feature of this park is the two back to back bowls joined by a spine. The first is a round bowl with metal coping standing at around 4 foot. On the outside of this  bowl where it hips is a small quarter pipe. The second is a three sided square bowl with rounded corners. It also has metal coping but is a little deeper at maybe 4 1/2 foot. The spine has one flat edge and the other is curved. The coping almost meets at the central point. Heading out from the second bowl is a small bank which then extends into another quarter pipe with metal coping.

The deck is fairly wide and has a packed gravel base around it so it’s solid all round. In one part there’s a hubba heading down a flat bank which leads into a mini quarter. You can transfer from this mini to the larger quarter at 90 degrees.

The entire park has been painted, so it can be very slippery.

What’s Around

The entrance to the skate park is the same for the child care centre. Parking is where ever you can find a good spot. The park extends down a bit and has a bbq, seats and shelters. It also looks like there’s a playground at the back. There’s nothing in the way of shops around so bring everything you’ll need.
