Goonellabah Skatepark

A good size with plenty of elements to session with your scooter. There is a lot of street and flatland at Goonellabah Skatepark, but there’s still some good transitions including a bowl.

The layout is long and spread out, but it seems like every which way you turn you find something else. The flatland has 3 curved ledges greeting you as you enter the park. There’s also a high wide launch pad style ledge but this has a habit of being used more as a seat as it has shade cover. The flatland is surrounded by raised banks and transitions of different angles and heights.

Off to the right is a 4 stair and drop off. On the upper level there’s a wide quarter pipe wall ride with no deck. In front there’s 2 hubbas heading down a flat bank with a pole jam in between. Next ud is another bank with 2 hubbas and a flat down rail heading down it. To the side there’s a pathway with a long ledge. The deck of the bank continues along before heading down a euro gap bank with hubbas and a down rail on more of an incline. To the side the path continues down with a steep mini quarter running alongside. Two large wise flat bank then create a raised area and join at a hip.

Up top you’ll find the bowl. It’s 4 foot in the shallow and 7 foot in the deep. There’s a dropdown halfway along the base. The bowl has metal coping all round and a hip on one side. It has heaps of deck around it and the deck is surrounded by ledge seating. Heading down from the bowl on the path there’s a raised ledge and a cutout ledge. The path then banks down aagin with a hubba and another flat ledge at the base.

Around the path there’s a small transition that curves around meeting up with the large flat banks. Another long bank runs along the back of the flatland joining all the sections. It has euro gaps in sections, ledge wall rides and standard flat parts.

Location

What’s Around

The Skate Park sits by the wall of a shopping centre so there’s plenty of shops close by. Buses also stop just up the hill. If you’re driving there is a car park right in front of the Goonellabah skatepark.

Goonellabah is an eastern suburb of Lismore in NSW.
