Not really sure if you can call this a scooter spot, but it does get ridden. The Byron Bay Skatepark is one of the smallest setups in the country.
Byron Bay Skatepark Elements
Short and not so sweet. This place is tiny and old with not many elements on offer. There’s a curved bank style bowl. It has no lip or coping, just a rounded top. There’s no deck around it either. From the bowl there’s a small pyramid style launch pad with a rectangular top. There’s been a bit of flatland added to extend the park. And people have made their own grind boxes out of pallets and posts.
What’s Around
First off this place is hard to find. If you’re facing the youth activity centre you need to walk around the right hand side along the fence line. Eventually you’ll stumble onto it. I wouldn’t advise walking around the other side as there are plenty of homeless people in the bush and safety could be a real issue around here. There is car parks on the street however on weekends it can get very busy. If the markets are on it’s hard to find a spot. The centre of Byron is a short roll down the road so there’s plenty of shops around.
You would be far better off taking the short drive down to the Suffolk Park Skate Park if you can.
