Brassall Skatepark

If you arrive via Workshops St, you’d think this was setup for only the smallest kids. At Brassall Skatepark you first see the smallest dish, then a small bowl. Luckily there are a few other things to ride here.

Brassall Skatepark Elements

Not sure if you’d call it an elements, but there’s a wide small dish, at best 1 foot deep. This might be good for the little ones to try the smallest of transitions without any risk. To the side there’s an old school 80’s style three sided bowl without coping. It’s square with rounded corners and stands at around 1 1/2 foot. This is another spot that would suit beginners.

The flatland at Brassall is bitumen and has started to crack, so be wary where you ride. In the centre stands a Fun Box. It has a kicker launch pad, diamond style banks and a flat down rail. Running from the small bowl all the way around the outside is a small bank. At the back this leads into a curved 3 foot bank, a roll-in and a curved 3 foot quarter pipe. On the widened section of deck there’s a ledge seat. Another small bank makes its way along one of the sides.

What’s Around

This park has quite a bit on offer, especially for smaller kids. There’s a bike track with traffic lights, playgrounds, plenty of seats and shelters. There’s also basketball courts, fields and amenities. There is a car park off workshops st, or if you swing around to the back on Rowan Drive you’re closer to the skate park. Buses stop on 2 sides of the wider park and shops are a short ride away.
