Bracken Ridge Skate Plaza

Over on the north side of Brisbane, not far from Sandgate is Bracken Ridge Skate Plaza. Not the easiest to get to on public transport, buses are closer and Sandgate station is a few kms away. It’s a pretty new park and losts of obstacles, and also a medium to large sized park by Brisbane standards. Plenty of quarters, ledges and spines througout the park to work with. There’s good lighting at this park too.

Bracken Ridge Skate Plaza Best Features

There’s cool stuff like the vert wall with the short transition but you’ll spend more time down the far end. There’s a good line up of quarters about 4 foot and tall straight banks in between them. The banks are cool have a look at the pics they are rectangular concreate slabs sticking out of the ground about 6-7 foot high.  Also next to the banks are another quarter, and a more gentler vert wall that has a section cut out in the middle of it. You don’t see this sort of stuff at the older parks in Brisbane.

In the middle of the park there’s a two sided bank or maybe you’d call it a platform. On one side of it there’s two combination flat and sloped rails. On the other side, its the same again as a concrete ledge. Up the front end of the park try out the small quarter, the pyramid and a spine that are laid out nicely. It’s all slick and fast concrete, you can tell its a new park by Convic. Would have to be almost the best park on the north side of town.
